Whilst it is widely accepted the consequences of global warming will fall disproportionately upon developing countries, the developed world will also experience the effects of climate change. The extreme climatic events of 2005 may be an indication that the increased frequency of such events, predicted to be a cause of climate change, is finally starting to occur. This increase can only confound the notion that climate change is an unquestionably international problem that must be tackled holistically by all sectors of society across the globe.
