Urban cleaning in action

The strong momentum gained from the mid-1990s, and particularly over the last three years, has transformed a transport company into a group of companies known for their innovation and flexibility, operating in seven states of Brazil, across the Mercosur and, from 2007, in Angola.

Through its environment and service companies AMBITEC has always been recognised by the flexibility and innovation delivered to its customers. According to its General Director, Tercio Borlenghi Jr., an entrepreneur who started working at the age of 16, the philosophy is that each client represents a different and particular situation. There are no shelf or generic solutions to specific problems. This approach has brought remarkable market success in recent years to environmental management activities, for example, aside from the industry restrictions in this year of crisis. Another contributing factor lies in the full range of services delivered in synergy, from combining services for LPG distribution to industry and complex environmental services for sophisticated logistic management supply.

We serve clients in the chemical, petrochemical, oil and automobile industry, and excel in providing services to the pulp and paper sector. In 2008, the Company prepared 450,000 tons of compost. It provides environmental services for diagnosis and remediation of contaminated areas, pond dredging, cleaning and decontamination of reservoirs; project, implementation and operation of treatment facilities (including bio-remediation), total waste management, transport, in-situ treatment and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste and decharacterisation of packaging at its generation site, cleaning, gardening, maintenance of industrial and commercial units, urban maintenance, collection and transport of domestic waste and from health care services.

It performs technical removal and transportation of hazardous cargo resulting from accidents and supplies equipment and materials for the services implementation. It supplies further services in cleaning and land remediation, temporary storage and disposal of hazardous waste, training and instructions to prevent accidents. In partnership with the French institute INERIS, the company offers specialised consulting services, emergency action plans, industrial and natural risk analysis, consultancy services to large-scale ventures in the sectors of oil, mining, roads, railways and ports, as well as issuing Quality Certification and Seal for Brazilian products exported to France or to other European Community Countries.

Looking to the future

The AMBITEC Group does not rest on its laurels. It is developing waste-to-energy technologies and also building a multimodal port (dry port) facility – NUTRIPETRO – in Aracruz, in the Espírito Santo state, one of the Brazilian States which have boosted their economy the most over recent years.
In 2007, the Group expanded its activities abroad, by establishing Ambitec Angola, a company that renders services to public and private sectors, providing environmental solutions.

AMBITEC Group pursues sustainable actions, ensuring today’s environmental integrity and preserving it for the future generations. This concept has certainly been a key differentiator and ensured the success factor of the Group in a very competitive market.
