Rio+20: The disappearance of Lake Chad

Rio+20 (15/06/2012) – Alex Blériot Momha, Director of Capacity Building Information and Data Monitoring for the Lake Chad Basin Commission talks to Pavilion TV about their reason for coming to the conference – to get support from the international community over the disappearance of Lake Chad.

Support 30 million people across five countries – a number that could grow to over 50 million people with expanding populations – the disappearance of the lake could impact households, agriculture, fishing, trade and commerce.

There will be no future for development of any kind in the area if the lake continues to disappear at such as rapid rate, warns Momha.
